Update 5: Scott Base Redevelopment

The Antarctica New Zealand Board of Directors convened on Monday, 10 June 2024 to consider the future direction of the Scott Base Redevelopment project.

The Board Chair will advise the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rt Hon. Winston Peters, of the Board’s recommendations for a way forward. These recommendations have been informed by an external panel process.

The Minister will consider the Board’s recommendations alongside guidance from officials. Assuming the Minister is comfortable with the recommendation, Antarctica New Zealand will begin the process of preparing a Business Case to be considered by the New Zealand Cabinet.
