This role is responsible for supporting the Assets & Engineering Manager in the maintenance and operation of Antarctic based assets and infrastructure, and the on ice leadership and coordination of engineering staff. We have two Base Engineers who share the responsibility for the upgrade, maintenance and operation of plant and machinery in Antarctica, by working through set maintenance and upgrade programmes and providing support to science events along with ad hoc work requests. This fixed term role is for part of the 2014/15 Antarctic season - ideally you would head to the ice late Feb and return to New Zealand mid October 2015.
