NZ and US scientists collaborate on climate change research.
On their last day on ice as part of Antarctica New Zealand's media programme, TV3 reporter Hamish Clark and camera operator Paul Newell, cross live into TV3 Firstline before boarding a US Ski Herc, LC130, to fly back to Christchurch.
While on the ice they've met scientists from New Zealand and the United States who are busy in Antarctica right now carrying out a range of experiments focusing on climate change.
Ice in the Ross Sea has been observed extending further out towards New Zealand than usual, considering climate change, so Antarctic scientists have been trying to work out why.
Hamish has also been looking at historic items left in huts up to 100 years old.
